Florida runs a hybrid renewal system: Certification may be renewed only until you allow 24 consecutive months to pass with NO nursing-related services for monetary compensation (F.S. 464.203(5)). Florida does not set a minimum hour count - any paid nursing-related work in the window keeps you renewable, which is why work_hours_per_window is null. You must also complete 24 hours of in-service training each biennium (F.S. 464.203(7)). Renewal fees: $55 on time, $105 if expired, $160 if notified delinquent (fees include the $5 unlicensed-activity fee).

On time: $55. Expired: $105. Notified delinquent: $160 (each includes the $5 unlicensed-activity fee).
The higher tiers are not a late fee on a dead certificate — they are the price of reviving a live one. Cross 24 consecutive months without paid work and the certificate is null and void under F.S. 464.203(5): no renewal exists at any price. You reapply as a brand-new applicant, with Level II Live Scan background screening and both Prometric exams (written $35, skills $120) again.
Renewal instructions assume you're still inside the window. If you're not sure you are, run the status checker with your real dates first — it computes active, at-risk, or lapsed and names your cheapest route back. Your state's full rule table, lapse tiers, and transfer-in verdicts live on the Florida state page. The general mechanics behind every state's renewal are in CNA renewal, explained plainly.
